Description

The Duke's Head Public House is an 18th-century building, with a 19th-century crosswing, that has been altered in the late 20th century. It features painted brickwork and a tiled gabled roof. The structure has a rectangular open plan, with the crosswing located on the east side, gabled towards the road, and a late 20th-century porch entrance set back on the left return wall. The building is two storeys high and includes a cellar, with two chimneys featuring offset heads on the ridge of the 18th-century section.

The road-facing side has a black painted plinth and a plat band at the first floor level of the right-hand section. The left-hand gable displays a carved bargeboard. Sash windows with glazing bars are present, along with two disused entrance doors and a 19th-century window with four large panes between them. The bottom two panes have stained, leaded glass with decorative lettering that reads "Wines and Spirits" on the left pane and "Henley Ales" on the right. Below this, there is a moulded two-panel stall riser. Additionally, on the right-hand lower ground floor, there is a square-headed beer cask entry.
