Description

Nos. 8 and 8A on Denmark Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and offices. It dates from the early 17th century but has been altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. The building is timber framed and encased in painted roughcast, topped with an old tile gabled roof. It features four framed bays and stands two storeys high with an attic, with each storey oversailing. The front has one gabled bay. The 18th-century sash windows have glazing bars, with the first-floor windows set in two angular bays. The ground floor has 20th-century shop fronts that are of no special interest. Inside, much of the timber frame is visible.
