Description
35 Denmark Street is a late 15th-century hall house that has been altered and extended in the 16th century and restored in the late 20th century. It is timber framed with painted render infill and weatherboarding on the rear gable, topped with an old tile gabled roof. The building has an L-plan layout with two framed bays, and the former hall is located in the southern bay. It is a single storey structure featuring 20th-century casement windows on the first floor and single fixed light windows on the ground floor, situated between the framing. The entrance door, also from the 20th century, is located on the right side of the road front. Inside, the timber frame is fully exposed, although some timbers have been replaced. The interior features jowled posts, a queen post roof, and clasped purlins. The building is now part of nos. 31 and 33, which are listed separately.
