Description

37 and 39 Denmark Street are two cottages dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottages are timber framed with brick infill, and the rear features painted, rendered infill. They have an old tile gabled roof and consist of four framed bays, with a flat-roofed extension at the back. The buildings are two storeys high and feature a central chimney stack with four shafts. On the first floor, there are three three-light and one two-light early 20th-century casement windows. The ground floor of No. 39 has two 19th-century sash windows and a 20th-century planked door. No. 37 has an early 19th-century shop front and a four-panelled door, which is partially glazed.
