Description
The Grange is a house dating from the late 18th century, constructed of brick with a slate roof. The south front features 2½ storeys and is divided into three bays. At the center, there is a panelled and half-glazed door topped by an 8-vaned fanlight. This entrance is flanked by a pair of finely fluted engaged columns that support an open pediment. The facade includes sash windows with glazing bars, all set under gauged skewback arches and adorned with scalloped hoods. To the right, there is a 19th-century canted bay that extends through two storeys. A plain parapet conceals the hipped roof, which has two symmetrically placed stacks on the rear slope.
The west facade consists of one bay with 18th and 19th-century additions to the left. It features a panelled door beneath a 6-vaned fanlight and a flat portico porch supported by four fluted columns. Above, there is one sash window on each floor, similar to those on the south front. To the left, there is a full-height 19th-century canted bay with sash windows, gauged skewback arches, and scalloped hoods, followed by further two-bay additions that have a descending stepped parapet.
