Description

Bridge House is a mid-18th century house located on Lynn Road in Wornington. It is constructed of brick with pantiled roofs. The house is two and a half storeys high and has six bays. The entrance door is offset to the right and is sheltered by a flat hood supported on brackets. The first and second floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars, each framed by a gauged skewback arch. A flat brick string course runs along the first floor level. The attic storey has renewed casements under segmental arches. A plain parapet partially obscures the gabled roof, which features a central flat section. North and south Dutch gables are present, with pediments featuring moulded dentils. Gable stacks abut the pediments to the east. The rear elevation is arranged as a three-gabled range, with two storeys and an attic. An early 19th century bow window is situated on the right side, covered by a conical slate roof and featuring sash windows with glazing bars separated by Doric pilaster strips. The remainder of the rear facade has a scattered pattern of sash and casement windows.
