Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a 17th century core that was remodeled in the 19th century. It is constructed from carstone, some of which is galletted, with brick dressings and a pantile roof. The building has a T shape, featuring a front range with four cells and a chimney bay, and it stands two storeys tall with raised upper walls. The chimney bay and an axial stack are located between the third and fourth cells, with an end internal stack to the left that has gault brick shafts.

On the ground floor, there are tall double casements for the first and third cells, a doorway with a part glazed door and flanking lights for the second cell, and a three-light casement with a segmental arch for the fourth cell. The first floor has five double casements, all with stone sills. The right return is made of carstone rubble with a brick platband and shaped brick kneelers, featuring some 17th century brick dressings. The left return is in galletted carstone rubble and has four blocked openings with segmental heads, a platband, 17th century brick quoins, and a brick band at the former eaves level.

At the rear, the first cell has a platband and a brick band at the former eaves level, with a mid-20th century French window on the ground floor and a double casement on the first floor within blocked 17th century rectangular openings. There is a forward wing at the rear of the second cell, which has dressed limestone quoins, carstone rubble, and galletted carstone on the gable, with raised gable and return walls. The right return of this wing has two casements with glazing bars on the ground floor and a double casement on the first floor. An outshut at the rear of the third and fourth cells has been raised to two storeys with a gable to the left.

Inside, there is a large fireplace and stack in the chimney bay. The fourth cell features a tall ground floor room with tie beams that have run-out stops. There is a staircase leading to the second cell, which has a closed string with a ramped handrail and a turned newel post.
