Description

Castle Meadow is a farmhouse dated 1754, constructed of brick with a western bay made of carstone, and features a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and five bays, although the symmetry is disrupted by a wider west bay. The central entrance consists of a panelled door beneath a pedimented hood, which is supported by a pair of scrolled brackets. The tympanum of the pediment showcases a carved fanlight motif. The original sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set within flush timber frames and are topped with segmental heads. A flat brick string course runs between the floors. The gabled roof has partly external end stacks, and the gable heads exhibit brick tumbling and rebuilt brick coping.

On the rear elevation, a stepped external stack is positioned left of centre, featuring a sash window that lights an inglenook. This window is from the 18th century and has glazing bars. To the right of the stack is a panelled door with a rectangular overlight, also with 18th-century glazing bars, followed by two 20th-century sashes. A 19th-century sash window is located on the first floor. There is also a single-storey, 19th-century gabled extension to the left of the elevation.

Adjoining the east side is a mid-18th-century brick barn with a pantiled gabled roof. This barn has a 19th-century sash window on the north front and various doors on the south side.
