Description

The milestone located in the garden of Ashridge Farmhouse, approximately 3 metres south of the entrance porch, dates back to 1747. It is a square stone with a pyramidal top, featuring incised lettering and pointing hands. On the north face, there is a hand pointing west with the words "The Warren," and underneath, a hand pointing east with the words "Bill Hill." The east face indicates "XXX Miles to Hyde Park Corner 1747," while the west face reads "To Wokingham."
