Description

This is a milestone located on the north side of Henley Road in Bisham, dated 1824. It is made of stone and features chamfered sides on a square base. The east face has incised Roman lettering that reads: "To Henley 6 miles Oxford 29 miles." The west face displays: "To Hyde Park Corner 29 miles Maidenhead 3 Colnebrook 2." On the base facing southwest, it is marked with "Parish of Bisham 1824," and there is an old benchmark facing southeast.
