Description

This milestone, located approximately 165 metres west of the junction with Burchetts Lane, dates from 1824. It is made of stone with rounded sides and top. The east face features incised Roman lettering that reads: "To Reading 10 Miles Bath 79." The west face has the inscriptions: "To Hyde Park Corner 29 Miles Maidenhead 3 Colnbrook 12." On the base facing north, it states: "Parish of Waltham 1824."
