Description
Yew Cottage is a small house dating from the mid-18th century, with extensions from the 19th century and alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of painted brick and features an old tile gabled roof. The building has a rectangular plan with three cells and small lean-to extensions at each end. It stands two storeys tall and has a ridge chimney that has been partly rebuilt, along with another chimney at the right-hand end, both topped with clay pots.
The front of the house, facing the road to the east, has four bays. There is a plat band at the first floor and dentilled brick eaves. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and box frames that are nearly flush with the wall. Notably, the window in the third bay on the first floor is blocked. The ground floor windows are fitted with panelled shutters. The entrance door, located beneath the blocked window, features six fielded panels with the top four panels being glazed. It is framed by a moulded architrave and has a plain, flat hood supported by cut brackets.
