Description
The Old Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the late 20th century. It features a part timber frame with brick infill and part brick construction, topped with an old tile gabled roof. The building has a rectangular plan and stands two storeys high. It has one chimney at the centre of the ridge and two chimneys at the rear, all fitted with clay pots.
On the front facing the road, there are casement windows with leaded lights. The first floor has a prominent five-light window in the centre, flanked by a three-light window on the left and a four-light window on the right. The ground floor features brick mullioned windows, including a four-light window on the left. To the right of this window is a plank entrance door with a semicircular brick-arched head, accompanied by two four-light windows. The cottage abuts the Dower House, which is listed separately.
