Description
The stables, located northwest of Glebelands, were built in 1897 by Sir Ernest Newton and are now used as a garage and store. The structure is primarily made of brick, with some weatherboarding, and features a hipped tile roof. It has an L-shaped plan with a gable on the northeast side and stands one and a half storeys tall, with a ridge chimney on the left side.
The front faces the stable yard and includes wooden garage doors on the left, a weatherboarded gable in the center that has doors leading to a hay loft and dovecot above, and a semi-circular arched opening made of glazed brick below. There is also a wooden glazed screen with a door across a recessed opening, and a three-light leaded casement window on the right-hand return.
Inside, the stables feature glazed bricks up to dado height and a glazed brick fireplace.
