Description

The cattle shed at Ashridge Farm, located north of the farmhouse, dates from the mid-17th century and was extended in the 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and an old tiled gabled roof. The structure consists of two framed bays, with the eastern bay rebuilt in the 19th century using re-used timbers. There is a small lean-to on the west side. Inside, the first bay contains a late 16th-century re-used beam that has chamfers and run-out stops. The roof is constructed with queen struts and clasped purlins.
