Description

This barn, located 850 metres southwest of Haineshill, dates from the late 16th century and features a timber frame construction with weatherboarding, a brick rubble and flint base, and a thatched roof. The structure consists of four framed bays and includes a midstrey with a hipped roof on the east front, positioned in the second bay from the right. There is a 19th-century low hipped extension on the south gable, which has thin framing and colourwashed brick infill. The roof is a through side purlin type, complete with collars, a redundant crown post, arch braces, and joist posts. Some of the timbers have been reused from an earlier building.
