Description

The Mount is a large country house set in landscaped grounds, dating from the late 16th century, with alterations and extensions made in the late 19th century. The building features a combination of timber framing with brick infill and brick construction, topped by an old tile gabled roof. It has a T-shaped plan with two additional gables on the right side, one of which is a stair turret, and large Gothic-style extensions to the right of the gables. The house is two storeys high with attics and has a ridge chimney adorned with a cornice and clay pots.

The east front of the house is gabled and includes scattered 20th-century leaded casements, along with a cant bay on the ground floor to the left. The timber framing is visible in this section. The west front features a plinth and a first-floor string course, with two 2-light and two 4-light casements on the first floor, and one 2-light and two 4-light casements on the ground floor, all fitted with leaded lights. An interior inspection was not allowed at the time of the survey.
