Description

The barn at Bigfrith Cottage, now used for domestic storage, dates from the 18th century and was extended in the 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and an old tiled gabled roof. The barn has a rectangular plan consisting of three framed bays, with an additional one-framed-bay extension on the left side. There is a midstray in the former central bay on the south, accompanied by a small lean-to on the right. The front and rear walls include brick ventilation slots. Inside, the structure has a queen post roof supported by straight braces.
