Description
30 and 31 Marlow Road is a hall house that has been converted into two cottages. It dates back to the early 16th century and has been altered in the 19th and mid-20th centuries. The building is timber framed, with mostly brick infill and some render, topped by an old tile gable roof. It has a rectangular plan consisting of three framed bays, with a two-bay cross wing on the right. The structure is two storeys high and features two end chimneys with clay pots, as well as one central chimney on the ridge, all having offset heads.
The entrance front has a one-bay gable on the right, which is rendered above an exposed tie beam, and to the left of the centre is a three-light casement window with glazing bars. On the left side, there are three bays with 19th-century two- and three-light casement windows. Additionally, there are two plain doors situated under small pediment hoods. An interior inspection of No. 30 was not permitted during the survey.
