16/4 Town Farmhouse 25.3.55 G.V. II Farmhouse. Late C17, altered C19 and C20. Timber framed with brick infill, old tile hipped roof. Nearly square plan of 4 x 4 framed bays with small full height con- temporary projection of one framed bay on north east. Two and a half storeys and cellar. Large, tall chimney on north west roof slope, and smaller, similar on north east. Two hipped roof dormers on north west and one on south east. Windows mostly leaded with weatherings over. Open eaves. Entrance (north west) front: 2-light case- ments in dormers, that on the right leaded. Two 3-light contemporary windows to first floor with mullions and transoms; small centre-opening casements with old ironwork. C19, 4-panelled entrance door to left of centre with flat moulded hood on carved brackets. 4-light casement to left, 3-light casement to right. Rear (south west) front: Three C19, 2-light casements to first floor. Below a C20 part-glazed garden door in centre; 3-light, C19 casement on left with small opening light in top right corner; two C18 sash windows with glazing bars in moulded architrave frames to right of door. Interior: early C18 panelling and overmantel over C20 fireplace in dining room.
