Description
Squirrel Cottage is a pair of cottages dating from around 1720, now used as a single residence. Originally known as Kendrick's Charity, the building is one-and-a-half storeys tall and features two windows on each side. It has a tiled roof with half-hipped gables and a brick ridge stack. The structure is made of brick and includes gabled dormer casements, as well as 19th-century casement windows. The doorway of the former eastern cottage has been replaced by a window, while a framed doorway with the date 1720 is located on the lintel and is topped by a gabled hood. These cottages were once part of Kendrick's Morning Prayer Charity, which was established in 1624.
