Description
Rose Cottages is a pair of cottages dated 1720, with an extension around 1800. They are built of red brick and have a plain tiled roof. Originally, the structure followed a three-bay lobby entry house plan and consists of one storey and an attic, set on a plinth. The building features three gabled dormers and a central right stack. There are three segmentally headed windows with flying plat cornices; the two on the left have Gothick traceried metal casements, while the wooden casement on the right is different. A half-glazed door is located in the centre right, set within a gabled porch that has a round-headed doorway. The cottages have been extended on both the left and right ends by single-bay two-storey blocks, creating a hipped roof. An additional stack is located on the left, with one wooden casement on each floor and a boarded door to the left. A datestone at the centre is inscribed with "P T K 1720."
