Description

Gate Cottage is a 18th-century gate lodge located in Nonington. It is constructed of painted brick with flint dressings and features a thatched roof. The building is one storey high with an attic, and it has a flint plinth and flint rusticated quoins. The hipped roof has a brick dogtooth cornice and a central stack.

At the front, there is a projecting central hipped porch flanked by round-headed wooden casements. The porch has a central boarded door topped with a semi-circular fanlight. The return elevations also feature semi-circular headed window openings, all of which are surrounded by rusticated flint. Gate Cottage was formerly a gate lodge to Fredville Park.
