Description

Shipyard Cottages is a pair of cottages dating from around 1700, with an extension added in the early 19th century. They are constructed of red brick and feature an artificial tiled roof. The cottages are one storey high with an attic, set on a raised plinth and have gabled ends with kneelers. There are four gabled dormers and two chimneys located at the center, with an additional stack at the left end. The front has four wooden casement windows with segmental heads, along with a small central wooden casement and a blocked window opening to its right. To the right, there is a boarded door within a 20th-century raking porch, and to the left, another boarded door with a sidelight also in a raking porch. It is said that the building was originally a house with an attached barn or store.
