Description
Radley Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, which is believed to have an even older core, with 18th and 19th-century extensions. The original part is constructed of brick and flint, with render, and features brick extensions, all topped with plain tiled roofs. The building has a T-shaped layout, with a 19th-century extension running parallel to the cross piece on the east side. The older section is one and a half storeys high, while the 19th-century extension has two storeys and an attic. There is an end chimney on the east side of the 19th-century wing, and both central and end chimneys on the west side of the older south wing. The south elevation showcases three large cross gables. The west part of the south elevation is an 18th-century brick extension, featuring one gable and a glazing bar sash window on the upper floor, along with a large sash window extending to the ground on the lower floor. The older section has two cross gables on either side of the chimney, each with a glazing bar sash window breaking the eaves on the upper floor. A large gabled timber porch from the 20th century is positioned over the central entrance, flanked by large glazing bar sash windows. Inside, a chamfered and stopped beam is visible in the kitchen at the rear.
