Description

The barn at Orpenham Farm is an 18th-century structure featuring a combination of brick and timber framing, with some weatherboarding above a brick plinth. The barn has a hipped roof made of painted metal sheeting. It consists of six bays, with aisles on all sides and midstreys located in the second and fifth bays. The west elevation showcases a buttressed brick wall that includes ventilation slits and cantilevered hipped roofs over the midstreys. Inside, the barn is supported by tall raking queen post trusses. The earliest dated bricks found in the construction are from 1776.
