Description
The barn at Oakhouse Farm, located approximately 40 metres northwest of the farmhouse, is a large threshing barn dating from the early 18th century. It features a timber frame with a half hipped and hipped thatch roof, and is weatherboarded with a low brick plinth. The barn has a rectangular plan consisting of seven framed bays, with a continuous aisle on the west side and two aisles on the east side, which contain two wagon entrances—one with a hipped roof and the other with a gabled roof. Inside, a planked partition divides the barn in the fourth bay from the right. The roof structure includes a double queen post design with double clasped purlins, jowled posts, and both straight and curved braces.
