Description
Nos 4 and 6 on Bath Road are early 19th-century buildings that stand three storeys tall with a basement. They feature a symmetrical front with a central block of four bays flanked by single bay side blocks, each with doors on the ground floor. The doors are four-panel with rectangular overlights, and there are panelled pilasters and bracketed cornices, although the cornice on No 6 is defaced. The buildings are constructed of red brick with a stuccoed ground floor and a string course at the first floor level. They have a moulded stucco cornice and a hidden slate roof with a tall central stack. The upper windows are glazing bar sash windows with architrave surrounds, while the first-floor windows have cornices and contemporary railed balconies. There are cast iron rails along the street with standards topped by small urns and dog rails.
