Description

Nos 47 and 49 on Kirkby Street are early 19th-century buildings that stand three storeys high with a basement. The right side features rusticated quoins, while the left has a stone pilaster. A stone eaves cornice runs along the top. Each storey has two windows, which are hung sashes with glazing bars. There are two openings in the basement, one of which has been modernised. The buildings share a joint doorway with stone surrounds, featuring doors with six fielded panels; the door for No 47 has four lights. Access is provided by five steps leading up to the entrance, which is flanked by plain iron handrails. The gable ends are coped and include kneelers.
