Description
Nos 144A to 152 on Castle Street is an early 19th-century symmetrical terrace. The building has four storeys and a basement, constructed from stucco on Bath stone. A string course runs at the first floor level, and the ground floor features channelled detailing. The terrace is topped with a cornice and blocking course, and it has a slate roof. The end houses project slightly forward.
The upper floors have 13 windows with cross-glazed and glazing bar sashes, while the road-facing side has seven windows and three doors. The first-floor windows have semi-circular heads, and the end bays include contemporary balconies. Three windows on the second floor are adorned with bracketed cornices.
On the ground floor, there is a verandah between the projecting bays, featuring decorative cast iron railings and standards. French casement windows open onto the verandahs. The carriage sweep includes end piers for gates, although one is missing.
