Description
This is a house, built in the early 19th century and now converted into flats. The exterior is stuccoed with a timber eaves cornice, and the roof is covered in slate. The house is two storeys high with an attic and a semi-basement.
The front elevation, facing Castle Hill, has three bays and includes two modern dormers in the attic. The semi-basement and raised ground floor are finished with smooth-faced rusticated stucco, featuring keystones above the doorway and windows. The windows across the front have central sash windows with margin lights on either side, except for the narrower bay on the right. The basement contains three windows. A flight of stone steps with iron handrails leads to the main entrance, located on the westernmost bay of the raised ground floor. The entrance features a two-panelled door with a simple rectangular fanlight above. A plat band runs across the elevation at the height of the first-floor ceiling. The first floor is smooth rendered. All windows except for the one below the doorway have stone sills which are painted black. The eaves feature a modillioned timber cornice. The modern square dormers contain two-pane casement windows.
The rear elevation, largely hidden from the street, is rendered and has full-height casement windows on the raised ground floor and two sash windows on the first floor. A dormer is positioned above the westernmost bay.
The hallway contains the original staircase with a wreathed curtail at the bottom.
