Description
Nos 22 and 23 on High Street are early 19th-century buildings constructed of stucco. They rise to four storeys and feature four double-hung sash windows set in reveals. The paired doorways are flanked by panelled pilasters and topped with rectangular fanlights, leading to three flush panel doors that are accessed by two stone steps. There are similar pilasters at either end of the ground floor facade, which has a continuous rough entablature above. No 23 has a red brick ground floor with two 19th-century windows. A balcony on the first floor is adorned with "Gothic" cast iron railings, and the French windows are set in round-headed sinkings. The second and third floors have bands at window sill level, along with a cornice and blocking course. Nos 17 to 33 on High Street form a cohesive group.
