Description

This is a small, interesting early 19th century house built of yellow brick, forming numbers 26 and 27 High Street. The three-story facade curves slightly to the left. The ground floor is rendered in channelled stucco and features a plinth and entablature. The windows are double-hung sashes set in reveals with sills and flat arches. The windows have architraves and entablatures with panelled friezes. The doorway has narrow panelled pilasters, brackets, and a continuation of the ground floor cornice. A three-panel door leads up two stone steps to a traceried rectangular fanlight. A parapet tops the building. Number 27 is part of the same building as number 26 and contains two sash windows and a 19th century shop front. Numbers 17 to 33 High Street form a group.
