Description
The Bow Brickhill War Memorial is a war memorial erected in March 1921. It is made of Portland stone and features a tapering, octagonal stone shaft topped with a stone cross above a collar. The memorial stands on a two-stepped square base that is surmounted by a square-sectioned plinth with shaped angles. The front face of the memorial is inscribed with the words: "TO / THE HONOURED MEMORY OF THE FOLLOWING / MEN WHO WENT FROM THIS PARISH AND GAVE / THEIR LIVES FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN THE / GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918," followed by eight names. The other faces of the memorial are inscribed with the phrase "THESE ALSO SERVED," each displaying 17 or 18 names arranged alphabetically. The upper step is inscribed with "1939 - 1945" followed by five names.
