Description

The Green Man is an 18th-century public house located on the north side of Watling Street in Little Brickhill. It is constructed of colour-washed brick with a concrete tiled gambrel roof, featuring flanking chimneys and a central hipped dormer. A bracketed wooden eaves cornice runs along the roofline. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a band marking the first-floor level.

The south front faces three bays, with upper sash windows set in reveals. The ground floor has three-light sashes on either side of a six-panelled front door, the upper panels glazed. The door is sheltered by an open pediment supported by cut brackets and approached by four brick steps.

A lower wing to the left, originally two cottages from the 18th century, has been altered. It is rendered and has a tiled roof with two small dormers. The front has four bays, with four-pane sashes to the two left-hand bays on the first floor. A sash window and a modern door are located on the ground floor, with altered windows to the right. A modern single-storey brick extension has been added to the right of the public house.
