Description
Poplar Farmhouse is a house that features an 18th century front attached to an older timber-framed building. The structure is made of brick with purple vitreous headers, red quoins, and dressings. Vertical strips flank the bays, and there are diamond-shaped panels beside the door. The roof is tiled and has projecting chimneys on either side; the right-hand chimney has an offset in tumbled brickwash and two diagonal shafts, which have been altered.
The south front is two stories high and has two bays. The upper part features three-light casement windows above sash windows, all set in architrave frames with gauged brick flat arches. The central door has 12 panels and is framed heavily, topped with a flat hood supported by cut brackets.
