Description
Nos 86 and 86A on High Street are mid-19th century buildings that stand three storeys tall and feature two windows. They are constructed of brick and topped with a slate roof that has paired brackets at the eaves. The second floor has casement windows, while the first floor has sash windows. The ground floor consists of shop fronts beneath a slated lean-to. Two pilasters with brackets frame the left-hand shop window and entrance. To the right, there is an alleyway that leads to No 86A, which is a two-storey extension at the rear. These buildings, along with Nos 62 to 86 (even), including Nos 66A, 70A, and 86A, as well as Nos 88 to 106 (even) and the former St Anthony Franciscan preparatory school, form a cohesive group.
