Number 88 High Street is a mid-18th century building that stands two storeys tall with an attic behind a corniced parapet. The front is plastered, and it has a slate roof featuring two flat-topped casement dormers. On the first floor, there are three windows with shutters, which are glazing bar sashes. The building has a modern shop front that extends to number 90, and there is a throughway on the right-hand side. This property is part of a group that includes numbers 62 to 86 (even), along with numbers 66A, 70A, and 86A, as well as numbers 88 to 106 (even) and the former St Anthony Franciscan preparatory school.
