Description

No 82 on High Street in Stony Stratford is a mid-18th century building that stands three storeys tall and features two windows. Constructed of brick, it has a modillion eaves cornice and a late slate roof. The first floor has glazing bar sash windows with stucco heads and keys. The shop front includes a recessed central entrance flanked by thin cast iron colonettes, with a fascia and cornice supported by two fluted Ionic columns, similar to those found on No 80. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 62 to 86 (even), as well as Nos 66A, 70A, and 86A, Nos 88 to 106 (even), and the former St Anthony Franciscan preparatory school.
