Description
The Conservative Club is a two-storey brick house from the mid-18th century, featuring a stucco-covered front with four windows. It has a band at the first-floor level, a modillioned eaves cornice, and a slight plinth. The steeply pitched roof is early tiled and includes two hipped dormers, brick chimneys, and flat stone coping on the gables. The sash windows are set in reveals with flat arched heads and keystones, and they have late glazing. The entrance is located between the first and second windows from the left and is accessed by three steps. It features a narrow early 19th-century reeded doorcase with a rectangular light above the door and a flat corniced hood supported by two carved consoles. The door itself has six fielded panels. The Conservative Club is part of a group with Nos 59 to 77 on High Street.
