Description
No. 62 High Street is an early 19th-century, three-storey house made of brick with a slate roof and toothed eaves course. The building features two windows on the second floor with stucco heads, and a three-light bay window on the first floor that has a cast iron balcony extending on both sides. The ground floor has a shop front with fluted and incised pilasters arranged in three pairs, along with a modern bay shop window. There is an early Victorian shop entrance that includes a reeded lintel and a rectangular light above with marginal glazing. To the right of the entrance is a six-panel door, which is also flanked by a pair of pilasters and has a similar rectangular light above.
Nos. 62 to 86 (even), including Nos. 66A, 70A, and 86A, as well as Nos. 88 to 106 (even) and the former St Anthony Franciscan Preparatory School, form a group.
