Description
Nos 70 and 70A on High Street are early 19th-century buildings that stand two stories tall and are finished in pebble dash. They feature a two-window front and have a slate roof with box eaves. The first-floor windows are sash style, set within stucco architraves that include slight entablatures and heavy sills. The shop front is pilastered, consisting of two doors and a shop window, all flanked by five pilasters and topped with a cornice above the fascia. The entrance includes two panelled doors with a rectangular light above. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 62 to 86 (even), which encompasses Nos 66A, 70A, and 86A, as well as Nos 88 to 106 (even) and the former St Anthony Franciscan Preparatory School.
