Description

This is a small, three-story brick house dating from the 17th century, with its gable end facing the street. The front is now covered in painted pebble dash. The gable has a shallow curved shape with moulded coping, and the ridge steps back towards the end. A later curved gable appears on the ground floor, with side entrances flanked by pilasters. The left-hand door has four panels. The building features an overshot dentil fascia and a shallow bay window with plate glass. There's a dentil detail above the doors and bay window. It has three windows on the first floor, and a central window in the gable. The 18th century windows are single-hung sash windows in wide wooden cases, set in shallow reveals. The first-floor windows have flat arched heads, while the attic window has a semi-circular head to the case and sash. A transomed ridge is set some distance back from the gable. The roof is tiled, and there's a wide, heavy stone chimney stack with a brick flue. The building is part of a group with numbers 59 to 77 (odd) High Street.
