Description
66A and 68 High Street is a building that dates back to the 18th century or early 19th century. It is three storeys high and features three windows on both the first and second floors. The structure is made of brick and has a slate roof, with a decorative eaves cornice that includes end brackets. The windows are glazing bar sash types, and there are white painted quoins similar to those on The Bull, which is located at Nos 64 and 66.
On the left side of the building, there is a standard 'International stores' shop front that covers part of the doorcase, which has a panelled pilaster with a single reed design. The entrance door is a six-panel door with a rectangular light above it. The house entrance features a wooden doorcase with a panelled door and a rectangular light over it. To the right, there is a ground floor window that has been replaced with plate glass.
This building is part of a group that includes Nos 62 to 86 (even), which encompasses Nos 66A, 70A, and 86A, as well as Nos 88 to 106 (even) and the former St Anthony Franciscan Preparatory School.
