Description

No 151 on High Street is a house that has been converted into a restaurant. It dates from the early 18th century and features painted stucco on brick with a Kent tile roof. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range. There are two gabled dormers that have Yorkshire sashes and decorative bargeboarding. A projecting wooden eaves cornice adds to the architectural detail. The first floor showcases rusticated quoins and window architraves, which have cambered arches, along with four-pane horned sashes. The 19th-century shop front is located under a dentil cornice and has a panelled plinth, with a half-glazed door that includes margin panes. At the rear, there is a gabled roof with a lower 18th-century weatherboarded wing. Inside, some original carpentry remains, including an unchamfered ceiling beam.
