Description
No. 166 High Street is a former house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from around 1700 and has undergone significant alterations over the years. The building is constructed of brick and features a Kent tiled roof. It has a two-storey range with a rear wing and includes a four-window arrangement. The eaves overhang and are decorated with dentillation. The first floor has plate glass horned sashes set in reveals, which are positioned under flat window arches. The shop front was added in the late 20th century. There is also a single-storey extension at the rear. Although the first floor was not inspected, it is possible that some original features, including elements of the roof, may still be present. This building is included for its group value with other nearby structures.
