Description

No. 60 Mardol is a shop that was formerly a dwelling, dating from around 1700. It is constructed of painted brick and features a steeply pitched plain tiled roof. The pitch of the roof suggests that a timber-framed structure may have been incorporated into the 18th-century building. The property has three storeys with attic dormers and a three-window range. The shop front has been inserted, and each floor has flush-framed 12-pane sash windows with segmentally-arched heads and stressed keystones. The central window spaces are blind. The building is adorned with a deep moulded wood modillion eaves cornice and angle quoins. There are two pedimented dormers in the roof, and the gables are coped with moulded kneelers.
