Description

This shop building in Shrewsbury likely has a core dating from an earlier period, but its facade is from around 1800. It is constructed of brick with a plain tiled roof. The building is three storeys high and has a single window on each side. A late 19th-century shop front features a recessed central doorway, and a high fascia with moulded console brackets on either side. A single 3-light casement window has been inserted on the first floor, likely replacing a previous central window. The second floor contains two four-pane sash windows with flat-arched brick surrounds accentuated by keystones. A dentilled band runs along the eaves. An axial stack is located at the rear. A steeply pitched roof suggests that an earlier building was refronted in the early 1800s.
