Description
This is an early 16th-century commercial premises, originally a dwelling, extensively restored in the late 20th century. The building has a timber-frame structure and a Welsh slate roof. It is three storeys high and has a single-window front. A brick shop front has been inserted at ground-floor level, extending across into the adjacent property at No.62. The first floor is jettied, with a rough close studding frame, a middle rail, and ogee-arched bracing. It features an oriel window with wooden mullions, transoms, and leaded lights. A moulded bressumer supports the jettied second storey, which has two-light mullioned and transomed windows that project slightly on moulded brackets. The jetties continue along the return elevation, where there are two parallel gables framed with large square panels, curved tension bracing, and cambered tie beams above an inserted brick ground floor.
