Description

12 and 13 Mardol are a pair of shops dating from the early 19th century, which incorporate an earlier building that may date back to the 17th century. The structure is built of brick over a timber frame and features a plain tiled roof. It has four storeys and a two-window range. The original first-floor windows have been altered by the insertion of 20th-century shop fronts. Throughout the building, there are four-pane sash windows with flat-arched gauged brick heads. A continuous sill band runs along the second-floor windows, and there is a moulded cornice at the parapet eaves. The building also has gable end stacks.
